Bacon Sriracha Football Cheese Ball

Ingredients

1 pound thick-cut bacon
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
8 oz Gouda, shredded
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 green onion, chopped
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 Mozzarella stick, cut into thin strips
Sriracha hot sauce to taste

Dippers

Crusty bread of your choice
Assortment of crackers
Assortment of veggies

Instructions

1 Heat oven to 400F. Place a greased wire rack on an aluminum foil-lined rimmed baking sheet.

2 Arrange bacon strips in a single layer on the rack; rub with brown sugar and sprinkle with red pepper flakes.

3 Beat the Gouda, cream cheese, butter, green onion, soy sauce, garlic powder, pepper, and Sriracha to taste in a large bowl until thoroughly combined.

4 Transfer the cheese mixture to plastic wrap, shape into a ball, and refrigerate for 1 hour.

5 After chilling reshape the cheese mixture into a football shape and refrigerate for another hour.

6 Press the bacon onto the outside of the football just before serving. Place the mozzarella strips onto the cheese ball to resemble laces.

7 Serve with your favorite crusty bread, crackers, and vegetables.
